This heart warming story was written by a retired vet, J.K. Keane, who lives in Shropshire. It was illustrated by Sue Richards who also lives in Shropshire.
A young kitten adventures too far and becomes lost. With the help and support of other animals she is saved .
The author uses a famous quote by Helen Keller:
"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
This is very much the ethos of Shropshire Cat Rescue:
"Together we can make a difference."

Children between the ages of 7 - 11 will love this book. It's full of interesting facts about animals wrapped up in a story full of tension. Mia is a curious little black kitten and is in awe of the great big 'outside', eager to explore beyond the bounds of her home. She finds herself in trouble more than once and relies on her new-found friends to rescue her from a difficult situation.
The illustrations are delightful and show perfectly Mia and Joker's personalities.
I fell in love with this little kitten. It is a charmingly written book, fun, informative and tense enough to make children want to turn the pages. Mia is adventurous but that gets her into lots of trouble. She is discovering the world and in doing so learns the importance of having friends and how their courage and kindness comes to her rescue. The illustrations bring the characters to life. I am looking forward to more Mia exploits in the next book.
An absorbing adventure about a mischievous black kitten that will keep you and your little ones waiting in suspense for what happens when Mia and her friends start to explore the world around them.
Both our girls (7 and 11) have loved reading this story and have re-read it multiple times. They can't get enough of the little black kitten and her friends and are that gripped by the storyline they struggle to put it down
A gorgeous tale and a lovely read.
